Week 2 - Web Design
This is the second week of Digital Practices.
This Week:
- Description:
- Reflection:
- Work to be done for next week:
The lecture will be about Platforms and Algorithms, and I’ll be creating my own website and data sets for these two weeks. It will be a portfolio which can be helpful for inputting anything else I create in the coming weeks. I’m not the best when it comes to algorithms, but I do have a bit of experience in starting to create a website which was unfortunately derailed by the COVID-19 Pandemic, so I did not get very far. Nevertheless, I am excited to see what I can create.
I used cPanel for the first time today, I have never used it before so it was quite strange using it. It’ll probably take some time for me to get used to. I followed the tutorial on how to create a html web page locally. It was confusing at first, I am using the lab pc so I don’t have access to some of the software which is required to make htmls a lot easier. Instead I used notepad, so it is a lot slower and takes more time to create. I noticed CSS is joined in the html code with a reference which is interesting. I was able to create a website with CSS and was able to upload this to cPanel.
To further expand on the website and look at ways to improve this.
Overall Thoughts and Images:
Web design is fun but can be really tiring to do. This was my first attempt at the website using the lab pc:
I like the style and colour of this, so I will keep this for my portfolio.
